TERRA KITOKO is a multi-layer artist, photographer, art director, sound maker, writer, choreographer and explorer. He is self-taught, born in Belgium and based in Brussels. Awarded several times on international and local short film festivals for his movie (LA) FUREUR DE VIVRE, he collaborates with artists like PAUL CUPIDO (photographer), COBY SEY (DJ), HANEUL KANG (performer) or SOFIE HOFLACK (actress).

With cultural backgrounds sourcing in Africa and Europe as well as an academic CV deeply rooted in economics and non-financial risk management, TERRA defines himself as ambiguous, legitimately raising contemporary questions around all kinds of borders, race, gender, discipline, country, ideas as well as addressing issues of eco-environmental crises while searching for an artistic and political language to address these challenges.

With a strong ambition to go beyond the words, TERRA wants to question his life and to contribute to overcome today’s polarizing paradigms. The projects he develops, seek to bring an alternative to existing closed world view with disruptive artistic frames to understand our realities.

TERRA’s works are physical and inner journeys exploring the limits and possibilities of existence laid bare at the edge of the world. What is revealed is a suspended and poetic space-time, images that are fragments of a boundless freedom, the inner one, a plunge into the void that becomes a flight, in the most extreme exploration that existence can offer: that of the freedom to be ourselves.

Since several years, TERRA KITOKO is volunteering and nourishing his inspiration in a number of underground and non-profit organizations in Brussels: NOVA CINEMA, ZONNEKLOPPER asbl, TRANSFOCOLLECT
