(La) Fureur de Vivre represents Terra Kitoko’s first experimental movie. It was premiered for the first time on 22.07.2021 in one of the leading avant-garde cinema of Belgium, at the CINEMA NOVA BRUSSELS.
Since then (La) Fureur de Vivre has been featured and awarded several times in various major international short film festivals.
(La) Fureur de Vivre is based upon a sharp intense and personal essay written by Terra Kitoko.
(La) Fureur de Vivre is about double-crossing your own genuine convictions. It is about confronting your own limits while not understanding why they exist, why we have to overcome them. It raises the question of the universality of the human condition in the finitude of its existence. The author confronts the sediments of common existential, sentimental and loving experiences through his personal history.
(La) Fureur de Vivre is a poetic and intimate text mixed with authentic images collected during his travels, along with minimalist and original music tracks composed with Victor Pascal, editor. It is a bittersweet story on the edge of tenuous borders, object of an irreversible shift, inhabited by a fragmented and contemplative vision of nature and women. A hymn to the fragile beauty of love. Between fantasy and reality, image, sound and movement guide us through a dreamlike maelstrom.
In order to capture the intimate message of (La) Fureur de Vivrevisions as closely as possible, the spectator must allow himself to be carried away by the aesthetics, to privilege sensation and emotion over linear logic, to stop piling facts on top of each other, and finally to simply surrender himself to the softness of feelings.
(La) Fureur de Vivre is a milestone and not a goal in itself. It is a work in progress process. It contributes to a larger project embracing multiple artistic mediums.
