Winter 22/23.

I decided to confront my body, my mind and my works with the dramaturgy of local communities as well as the repeated assaults of the Elements of The WESTFJORDS, Iceland.  One of the still untouched territories in the world.

Each presented picture is a word apart. Part of a story on prostration, contemplation and freedom. A potential diegesis about our individual human condition impacted by today’s major systemic digital and geopolitical shifts.

These images are part of a body of work I did this winter 2022/2023 on the concept of « limits & territories » in one of the most remote regions of the planet. My research was documented through various techniques, one of which was based on a confrontation of my photographs and my body with nature.

So, I decided to take the time. Time to observe and to try to understand in my own way. In the form of a scaling of my work, in these vast spaces, how my photos and what they represent could establish a poetic bridge, a form of metaphorical mise en abyme, with these territories I tried to invest. 

In reality, the opposite became clear to me. The immensity of the beauty of nature and its elements absorbed me and my work. Like a tsunami of meaning and form, everything was swept away in a single breath.
