Önundarfjörður is one the many Icelandic fjords located in The Westfjords, in the extreme northwest of Iceland just in front of Greenland. This location has been chosen due the sweeping golden-sand beach and dune system, called Holtsfjara, which curls out into the middle of the fjord.

Winter 22/23.

I decided to confront my body, my mind and my works with the dramaturgy of local communities as well as the repeated assaults of the elements of The WESTFJORDS.  One of the still untouched territories in the world in the extreme northwest of Iceland. Each presented picture is a word. Part of a story on prostration, contemplation and freedom. A potential diegesis about our individual human condition impacted by today’s major systemic digital and geopolitical shifts.

On January 23rd, 2023, I decided to shoot this long-awaited series of images with my friend Haukur.

These images are part of a body of work on the concept of « limits & territories » in one of the most remote regions of the planet. The artistic approach was to interact the local elements with a cycle of 7 of my fetish photographs.
